Frequently asked questions
How do I enter a mixed number?
Put a space between the whole number and the fraction, like 2 3/8. A minus sign in front applies to the whole value, so -1 1/2 means -3/2.
How is a fraction divided?
Dividing by a fraction is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal: 3/4 ÷ 3/8 = 3/4 × 8/3 = 2.
Can I use decimals?
Yes. Decimals with up to 12 places are converted to exact fractions first, so 0.75 becomes 3/4.
