Image Metadata Viewer

See what a photo reveals about itself before you share it. The viewer reads the camera and lens, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, date taken and GPS location, plus a full searchable table of every tag. Export everything as JSON, or create a clean copy with the metadata removed.

How to use the Image Metadata Viewer

  1. Drop a photo (JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, HEIC and more).
  2. Review the camera and exposure summary and the location, if any.
  3. Search the full tag table for specific fields.
  4. Export the metadata as JSON if you need a record.
  5. Press Remove metadata to download a clean copy.

Frequently asked questions

Why is no metadata shown for my image?

Many apps and social networks strip metadata when saving or uploading. Screenshots and edited exports often contain little or none.

How does Remove metadata work?

It redraws the pixels onto a blank canvas and saves a new file, which contains no EXIF, GPS, XMP or IPTC data. JPEGs are re-saved at 95% quality.

Is the map link sent anywhere automatically?

No. The OpenStreetMap link only opens if you click it, and it appears only when the photo contains GPS coordinates.

Can I view metadata of HEIC photos?

Yes, metadata can be read from HEIC files. A preview and clean copy depend on whether your browser can display HEIC images.
