Frequently asked questions
How is the hourly rate worked out from a salary?
Annual pay is divided by hours per week × paid weeks per year. At 40 hours and 52 weeks that is 2,080 hours.
What is the difference between bi-weekly and semi-monthly?
Bi-weekly means every two weeks (26 pay days a year). Semi-monthly means twice a month (24 pay days a year).
Is take-home pay accurate?
It uses a single flat percentage, while real taxes are usually progressive. Use the tax calculator for a bracket-based estimate. Results are estimates for planning and education, not financial advice.
