Frequently asked questions

Are the presets up to date?

Not guaranteed. They are simplified examples based on published figures for the year in their name and may have changed. Always check the official tax authority for the brackets that apply to you.

What is the difference between effective and marginal rate?

The marginal rate is the rate on your last unit of income. The effective rate is total tax divided by total income, which is always lower in a progressive system.

Does this include social security or local taxes?

Only if you add them as brackets. It does not model credits, phase-outs or surcharges. This is an estimate, not tax or financial advice.
