Frequently asked questions

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. Offsets are calculated for the exact date, so a London time in July uses BST (UTC+01:00) and one in January uses GMT.

What happens to times that do not exist due to DST?

When clocks jump forward, some local times are skipped. The tool warns you and shifts the time forward by the gap.

Why are some offsets not whole hours?

Some zones use half or quarter hours, for example India (UTC+05:30) and Nepal (UTC+05:45).
