Frequently asked questions
How does it decide where a sentence ends?
A sentence ends at a full stop, question mark, exclamation mark, ellipsis or the Bangla/Hindi danda, followed by a space and a capital letter. Common abbreviations like "Dr.", "e.g." and single initials are not treated as endings.
Do headings count as sentences?
A line separated from the next paragraph by a blank line is counted as its own sentence, so headings are included. Remove them first if you only want body text.
What is a good average sentence length?
Many style guides suggest averaging around 15–20 words for general readers. Mixing short and longer sentences usually reads best.
