Balance Sheet Generator

List your current and non-current assets, current and non-current liabilities and equity, and the generator totals each section and checks the accounting equation: assets = liabilities + equity. If the sheet does not balance you see the exact difference and which side is higher. Key ratios — current ratio, quick ratio, debt-to-equity and working capital — are calculated alongside, and you can export a PDF or CSV.

How to use the Balance Sheet Generator

  1. Enter the business name, the balance sheet date and currency.
  2. Add current assets and mark which are liquid (cash and receivables usually are; inventory is not).
  3. Add non-current assets, current and non-current liabilities, and equity lines.
  4. Check the balance status and the key ratios.
  5. Download the PDF or CSV, or print the preview.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my balance sheet not balance?

Usually something is missing or recorded twice — for example the year's profit not added to retained earnings, a loan recorded as an asset, or an owner withdrawal left out of equity. The tool shows the exact difference to help you track it down.

What is a good current ratio?

Many businesses aim for roughly 1.2 to 2, meaning current assets comfortably cover short-term liabilities, but the right level depends heavily on the industry and cash cycle.

How is the quick ratio different?

The quick (acid-test) ratio only counts liquid current assets such as cash and receivables, excluding inventory and prepaid expenses. Use the "Liquid?" column to choose which assets count.

Is this an official financial statement?

No. It is an estimate-quality summary for planning and discussion. Formal statements must follow applicable accounting standards and may need an accountant's review.
