Frequently asked questions

What does the overtime multiplier mean?

It scales the hourly overtime rate. Use 1.5 for time-and-a-half or 2 for double time. If you already entered the enhanced rate, set the multiplier to 1.

Does it apply real tax brackets?

No. Tax is a single flat percentage of gross pay that you choose. Real income tax and social security usually use bands, thresholds and allowances, so the result is an estimate.

What is the percentage deduction based on?

It is calculated on basic pay only, which is how many pension and provident-fund contributions work. Use fixed deductions for flat amounts such as loan repayments.

Can I rely on this for statutory payroll?

Treat it as an estimate, not payroll or tax advice. Statutory payroll must follow your local rules, so confirm figures with your payroll provider or accountant.
